What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Orders

As a business who provides physical products , we must collect certain types of information to fulfil your orders such as our names, postal addresses, your emails and the details of the products.

In the case of custom orders, you may choose to provide us further information about the designs and dimensions of the product via emails or our social media channels.

Mailing lists

Currently, we have two mailing lists: the newsletter mailing list and the workshop sign up mailing list.

When you actively given us consent through signing up to one of our mailing lists, we will only send you the relevant information.  The newsletter mailing list is designed to tell you about our products, workshops and events. The workshop mailing list will only be used for promoting workshops.

You can revoke the consent at any time by contacting us.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you contact us via the contact form,  we will save your name, email address and the contents.  We will only use this information to reply to your request.  If the request is about current orders or custom orders, we will retain them only to provide you the services and also as a record for business purposes such as to comply with tax purpose and to solve future disputes.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

We do not normally share your information with third parties except from very limited circumstance:

i) We provide our services and receive payment via Paypal, so Paypal will know that you have been made an order and the amount of the transaction.

ii) We share your name names and addresses with postal services for the purpose of delivering the product to you.

ii) Should we need to perform certain functions and needs to engage with third parties, we will only share your information to the extent necessary of performing the functions.

iii) Compliance with laws. We may need to retain and share your data in legal process and according to the order of court in cases of prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity.

How long we retain your data

Comments

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Users

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Orders

When you buy products from us, we will retain your data for as long as it needs for us to provide you the services. Generally your data will be retained for 3 years for business purposes including complying with tax laws, legal obligation and resolving disputes.

Mailing lists

If you sign up to our newsletter, then we will retain as long as you give us the consent for it. Once you revoke the consent , we will delete your data within three days.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments,  or have ordered a product from us, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Data Protection

All our data if stored in computer, they will be saved in encrypted hard drive and password protected spreadsheet. All our hard copies will be locked in a safe environment.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

In normal circumstance , we will not hold your data apart from within a EU country. However, we may store and process your data with third party hosting service in the US.

We use Dropbox to store and transfer your data from within the EU to the US server because it is Privacy Shield certified and complies with the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks.  All sensitive personal data stored on Dropbox are encrypted before storing in Dropbox server.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
