Bright and striking, the sunburst tropical floral brooch is a cross-over between the hot summer sun and a tropical flower in full bloom.
The brooch features a large flower made with hand-dyed silk organza, which is embellished with millinery stamens and complemented with leaves made with habutae silk fabric. The brooch is created with the Tsumami-zaiku technique and mounted onto a silver plated brooch.
A wonderful complement for a smart casual outfit. Perfect for every day of the week.
The brooch is made with extra lightweight, translucent silk organza and glossy habutae silk. The fabrics are carefully cut and intricately folded to create delicate details, which were then assembled to create the brooch.
Every brooch is fully handmade so each one of them is unique. Utmost care is taken to ensure that every flower looks as similar as possible with slight differences.
Please keep the piece dry. Do not wash. Remove dust with a clean brush.

Tsumami-zaiku is an artisan skill originated in the Japanese aristocracy, dating back to the late 18th century. Today, the craft is still used extensively to make exquisite floral headpieces for Maikos (apprentice Geishas). Tsumami-Zaiku is a delightful union of Japanese tradition, culture, and nature. We aim to bring this over two-century-old craft into modern fashion, so as to create distinctive, unique, and alternative headpieces.
