Japan used to adopt the Lunisolar Calendar and celebrated Shogatsu the same time as the rest of East Asia. It was not until the Meiji Restoration when Japan synchronised their festivals dates with the Gregorian Calendar. From then on, Japan celebrates Shogatsu on 1st January instead.

Mutsuki – was inspired by the joyous season of Shogatsu, and was created with a celebratory mood in mind. Mutsuki is a bold and lively piece that features a large red peony, which is accompanied by hand-painted camellias. Auspicious motifs of pine and bamboo are added to decorate the piece. The piece is mounted onto a comb and is best suited for updos.

Perfect for woodland or garden themed parties, showers, and weddings.
